My husband, Chase, went out of town this weekend for a men’s encounter which left me “mommin’ solo” with 3 kiddos for a couple days. Not terrible but not ideal either ha-ha.
We started the weekend off with a make-your-own pizza kit I found at Aldi’s. It came with 3 mini pizza crusts and sauce packets and we added our own mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. It was a lot of fun! Addie especially loved getting to cook her own dinner! We will for sure be picking that up again in a future grocery order.
After dinner we climbed into my bed and watched Muppet Babies and Fixer Upper until bedtime. Thankfully Owen went to bed pretty easy after nursing. The two older children? They fought and argued about who was touching who and who stole the others stuffed animal. Since Chase is gone, B got to sleep in the big bed with us. Needless to say, I won’t be doing that again).
On Saturday we packed up and spent the day at my mom’s house (the kids call her “G”). Bradley found the box of old game consoles and after freaking out over how old and word it all looked, he enjoyed playing Harry Potter on the GameCube.
For dinner we decided to make sheet pan pancakes for breakfast. They were super easy to make and delicious! I really loved not having to stand and flip individual pancakes for everyone there! Addie got creative while helping with toppings and had so much fun “painting” on them.
We spent Sunday morning just relaxing and tidying up the house before Chase came home. Everyone (especially me) was anxious to have him back home!
Around 4:00 he finally got back into town and we celebrated with some friends at our new favorite Mexican restaurant San Miguel. Of course, minutes into being there little man had a massive diaper blow out resulting in both of us needing an outfit change. Thank goodness for carrying an extra shirt for myself (#breastfeedingproblems)!
Overall we had a great weekend. I learned that while I can do it all alone when necessary, it is so much easier and needed to have my husband here to help me out. Now I just need to work on actually asking for help. There’s a good goal for 2021 ha-ha.
I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend as well and have a great week!
